Thousands of people have been waiting years for this: Irie Révoltés are back! The band celebrates their ‘IRIEUNION’ and will be on stage one last time. After 17 years of band history, 5 albums, countless political actions and over 500 concerts in 25 countries, Irie Révoltés bid farewell in 2017 with a legendary concert in front of 11,000 fans.
When Irie Révoltés storm the stage, everyone’s fists go up and the audience goes crazy from the very first note, bringing every festival site, every club and every demonstration to the boil. Anyone who has ever attended an Irie Révoltés concert knows that the band literally turns the world upside down with their sound. Their unique blend of reggae, ska, dancehall, rap, punk and electro not only gets their fanbase jumping and dancing, but also provides the soundtrack for the revolution. With Irie Révoltés, music and politics belong together. Boundless euphoria and ecstasy on the dance floor are inseparable from uncompromising statements against the injustices of our world.
Now, eight years after their break up, we have the unique opportunity to experience them live once again. For the last time, frontsingers Mal Élevé and Carlito will heat up the audience with their two-part vocals and their German-French lyrics, rapper Silence will fire off his rhyming chains and the musicians will play the unmistakable melodies with trumpet, saxophone, bass, guitar, keyboards and drums that so many people have missed for so long. Irie Révoltés have always felt part of a movement. This is one of the reasons why they are storming the stage one last time to stand up for a better world together with the next generation. Facing a global shift to rightwing politics, the climate catastrophe, increasing wars and violent conflicts, Irie Révoltés want to send their message once again, 25 years after their foundation, that another world is possible if we fight for it together.
